England v Pakistan first T20 match is underway at Old Trafford. Really surprised that the weather has stayed good enough – there was no hope for the Glamorgan v Worcestershire Rapids Vitality Blast T20 here last night. 🏏

The weather was a little unpredictable today ☔️

After years of neglect we’ve been trying to improve and actually make use of the area of garden behind our house.

I should really have taken some ‘before’ photographs but here are a few details in pictures of progress so far.

_Sun terrace_ 😀

_Oregano bed and compost bin_

_Thyme planted in a rusty wheelbarrow!_

_Small raised beds cleared and dug over ready for planting_

_Greenhouse, which still definitely needs some repair, semi-tidied and an attempt at seed germination started – including basil, coriander, dill, rosemary, sage and tarragon_

_Rampant mint alongside the greenhouse_

_Chives and bay in two of the raised beds_

_Garage newly painted and starting to get some decoration_

_Buttercups flourishing alongside the garage_
Meanwhile, for some rest and relaxation time, at the front of the house the weather has now been good enough to string up the hammock.

England beat New Zealand in the 4th T20 match to level the series 2-2. Good to see an outstanding performance from England after a couple of defeats. Deciding match is at Eden Park, Auckland on Sunday – but from what I’ve heard the weather forecast is not good 🙁 🏏

Delayed restart – view from opposite side of the stadium – Michael Hogan bowling to Aaron Finch – weather not good 🏏

Not quite the weather for a BBQ, but planning to charcoal grill some sea bass on our balcony. May end in disaster!
